Blog Vs Web Page

So, you could say that a blog is just a type of Web site. Although is technically true, blogs are in fact very different from Web pages, both in terms of their design and their purpose:

  1. Web sites are made up of multiple pages. Although you can have blogs that are composed of several pages, you probably won't see many blogs with menu systems or site maps. The great thing about blog is that everything is there to see on the front page: a way of navigating through the messages and links to other sites of interest. Web sites have these things, too, but because of their design, you usually have to click through a few pages to get the discussion section. So, generally speaking, blogs are easier to navigate, because everything you are looking for is usually right there when the blog first loads in your Web browser.
  2. Web sites are hosted differently from blogs. Let's say that you're really interested in music. Ok, let's make it more specific and say that you're interested in hip hop music. You could go to Web search engine like Google or Yahoo! and type "hip hop" but you would be presented with a general listing of sites and categories. The web contains a lot of cool information.Finding exactly what you are looking for, though, can take quite a bit of digging through lots and lots of Web sites.Blog hosting services offer straightforward organization of blogs, so you can more quickly find what you are looking for.
  3. Blogs are designed to be more "active" than traditional Web sites. Remember that perhaps the key difference between a blog and a Web site is that a Web site is designed to be more "static" than a blog. A Web site can be designed, has content placed on it, and be perceived as being a "good" Web site for many months ( or years) without having either its design or content changed. Compare that to a blog,if you went to a blog and found that the last entry was a month ago or more, you'd probably think the owner of the blog either gave up on making entries or just wasn't interested in keeping a good blog. The really cool thing about blogs is that they capitalize on the immediate nature of the Web.When you wanna write your experience, you can log in to your blog, write it,the within minutes, that experience is available for others to see.although you could do the same thing with a Web site,it's generally harder and more time consuming to update a Web site. This is because you change information on one page, it likely needs to be changed on other pages on that site, too.
